It´s an ill wind that blows no good.
While I wish R1626 woulda made it, this will probably encourage Roche to switch their resources to R7128 (Pharmasset), which is a good thing because it has always shown more promise, with less side effects and better efficacy.
Unfortunately for them, Roche will have to share the profits with Pharmasset, which is why R7128 woulda remained the red-headed stepchild as long as R1626 was in the race.

thanks to both of you. trish, as to the study, i expected the Dr to urge me to stay the course for the sake of the study, but he was very gracious/supportive and gave me the OK that i had been hoping for. he didn't elaborate a lot, but he did say the study drug has probably seen its last days due to the problems with the neutrophils and lympocytes and there will not be a phase III. (i'm glad to have had the opportunity to take it). if you hear something different please let me know. And best of luck with your SVR! I'll be checking back to find out.
Here's hoping for your SVR and it certainly looks good. If you were in the "short straw" arm of the trial, you would have been done at 24 weeks anyway, so there you go.
A little disconcerting to hear that R1626 won't be going on to Phase III, wonder what's up with it. Certainly I keep asking the question if the trial data is still useful and relevant because following trial protocol means paying a certain price. More questions for my trial co-ordinator and I'm coming up on Week 24 in two weeks myself.
Good luck to you ... please post back and let us know how your post PCR results play out...would be nice to celebrate SVR with you. :)
Take care.
Trish
Have never heard of anyone who was UND at week 2 or before. that didn´t get to SVR.
And that includes Geno 1 and only 24 weeks of tx, like miked who was a 1b and made it second time around with 24weeks telaprevir + soc 12weeks and then another 12 with only soc.
Congratulations to be of the meds, chears to a healhty SVR life in the future.
