3 months clean!!!

Hey Everyone!!!!!!!!!!.  I am not new to this site but was using  it at work and was forced to stop.  I now have home internet so I'm back.  I have Hep C Geno type 1a.  Started tx Oct 1 2009.  At the beginning my vl was 1.4 million.  After 1 month of tx it was down to 4600.  Just got off the phone with my nurse and my  3 month PCR test shows the virus is not detectable.  So I am really feeling good.  Dr did say that I will have to do the full 48 weeks but i,m cool with that.  So what can I expect from 9 more months of meds?  I mean is it probably as bad now as its gonna get?  I was SOOOOO concerned about the hair-lose factor but my only really big symptom have been fatigue.  IDK  I.m just so happy to be back on this site and with my 3 month results i.m flying pretty high.  Not literally(I'm also in Recovery)  I have 2 1/2 years sober.  Just wanted to get signed in and say HI!!!!!

Don't worry about the hair - not everybody loses it but it does grow back let me tell you.......longer and healthier than ever too.  The main thing is just to get to UND and stay there forever. Make sure you stick to your schedule and don't miss any doses - take the ribavirin with some form of fatty food so that it has something to bind to and doesn't just flow through you.  Other than that you seem to have it going on pretty good - I hope you stay as symptom free as you are.

congradulations on being undetectable thats great news. the rest of the 48 weeks is not going to be easy but it sounds like you have got it better than must. I was on the medication for 2 1/2 years and my side effects where horrible. I stopped treatment the last of nov but the side effect still continue. I pray tis is not your case
God bless

Hey lisa..
that is wonderful news.  It's great to hear that your symptoms are minimal and I dont blame you one bit for the hair...I would have been worried about that too...I guess it can sound a bit vain...but hey.  I wish you all the best of luck in your recovery.  my Husband was just dx over a month ago.  he didn't have it last year so it's a recent infection.  he will be going for genotype test and ultra sound soon...right now his vl is 63,000.  Great for you on the sobriety too!!!
all my best wishes for you!!
