6 months PCR

Hey gang -- remember me!  I haven't been writing much but I have been lurking around.  Things have changed a bit -- what's with all these icons and advertising.

Anyway, I just wanted to share with all my pals that I got my 6 months results:  HCV RNA, QN, PCR <1.70
                 HCV RNA IU/mL <50

So this means that I'm cleared post 6 months.  HURRAY

I'm 1a bx grade 1 did 1 year of pegasys/rebetrol and cleared at 12 weeks 24 weeks and now post 6 months still clear.

This was my favorite place to come and share and listen to all of you.  God bless you guys and please hang in there -- it will get better.

Lots of love, Lori

It's so great to share spirit and strength with you.  Doing tx for a year with 4 children ages 11, 9, 7, and 5 yrs old was no picnic.  I was really dying towards the end of tx.  It took a lot out of me.  But I did it and so can you.

Hey Guy,
The hunters didn't have any luck this round, maybe next year. Hubby is doing "fairly well" according to doc. Still waiting for 8 week PCR test results, it has been 2 weeks since they drew the blood for it....it is the only thing not back, all the labs were okay I think, alt/ast were 50/56, a little high, but not bad. He does 10/48 in a few minutes....he seems to handle them fairly well. Hope all is well with you and yours, Have a Hoppy Easter!
Tina

Scott,
I have been lurking and reading all the posts. It is very refreshing to see someone take control of their own medical condition, it is rare indeed and you are to be commended for it! So, I commend you! You are one tough cookie....60 weeks, WOW! Your wife is great, I have read her posts and tell her for me that I am with her 100% and I understand completely.

Hey Lori!!  That is wonderful news.  Quite the winner's circle we are getting around here.  Seems like 1a's are a little more rare around here than b's, but maybe that is my imagination.  Anyway, I know what a great weight you've had lifted from your back and that it makes the fight all worth while.  Kudos!!!!

Lori,

I am sooooo HAPPY for you!!! I'm another SVR lurker. So glad to see us "oldies" posting our SVR reports - very encouraging to those in tx and those debating whether to do tx.

Keep enjoying your health and none of the worries that went along with this battle.

Is anybody out there....I know  that probably sounds really weird but I am having a slumber part (kids and husband gone til tomorrow..LOL)...here with my friend Tracer who is a 2b, she has posted here a few times but didn't get much in a way of response it seems that there were too many other things happening here. She has alot of questions and one is that she is afraid of whether life after TX is really going to be any better. She just started TX 6 weeks ago and was given the peg-intron. The first 4 weeks she did the mix and inject. And then she got the new dial a pen. I am sorry but I think this thing is a pain...its way more work and she is having problems with the STUPID dial a thingy (load)sorry..hahaha...tooo girls  get together an we are either laughing or analizing...anyway...I don't think she is getting the right dose. Maybe only half. When you ial it...It shoots out the extra...so it is gone. Ok...It's late here..so I'm rambling....is there anyone out there wh ocan take the time to help us out. I don't want Tracer to stop Tx cause she is scared to give herself this shot.

Thanks in advance, kim

Hi Kim, Sorry no one here has been able to help so far.  Seems its more important to fight with each other and call each other names.  I'm doing Pegasys, but not the pens.  If you don't get a reply here soon, try the roche pegassist site (not sure of spelling)  as they have an assist program where they'll answer questions.  So does SP.  Otherwise I'd stop in your docs with last weeks, and have them show you, or make an appointment to have them help do next weeks.  Tracer, hang around.  Thhis disfunctional family will get it together before long!

Kim

This is "Great News" indeed! I too am a geno 1 I'm only at the begining of this journey...still waiting for a biopsy and then on to treatment! I found out about having HepC in Dec and have battled the HMO since then! It's very incouraging to read about geno 1s achieving SVR!  The cards are kinda stacked against us so, this news is the greatest to hear and gives us all HOPE!!
Positive thoughts your way, Annette
