A "naive" question

Did 12 weeks of interferon 3x a week in 98. Did 6weeks of pegasy/ifn, quit on my own (couldn't handle depression), a vl after 4weeks >1.1log drop. If anything I consider myself naive, did not continue tx. Just my opinion. Any thoughts on this unqualified opinion?

Null response: Failure to reduce HCV RNA by at least 2 logs10 (100 times) after 12 weeks of prior treatment, which is the currently  recommended Food and Drug Administration (FDA) definition for clinical trials of investigational hepatitis C treatments
Partial response: At least a 2-log10 (100-times) drop in HCV RNA, but inability to fully remove the virus from the blood by week 24
Breakthrough: After dropping to undetectable levels, HCV RNA is detected again in blood during treatment.
Relapse: After dropping to undetectable levels, HCV RNA is detected again in blood after treatment ends

The only way it will make a difference is if you are trying to qualify for a shorter tx duration, looks like you are prepared to do 48 wks and in my unqualified opinion looks like you should, from there response guided(futility rules) will only be see if you respond good enough to continue for the 48 wk duration other than that as I stated above  it really doesn't matter other than stats of SVR % .

HCV RNA PCR, QUANT.vl 1032450 on Feb 98, started tx in Aug 98 to Oct. went to>5,000 x 1000 copies/ml. However on April of the following yr. 1999 my vl went down to 642950 and kept going up from there. Treatment-experienced patients:
10. Re-treatment with boceprevir or telaprevir,
together with peginterferon alfa and weight-based
ribavirin, can be recommended for patients who had
virological relapse or were partial responders after a
prior course of treatment with standard interferon
alfa or peginterferon alfa and/or ribavirin.

Just got that from: AASLD PRACTICE GUIDELINE

If your doing 48 wks tri tx it really doesn't matter other than stats of SVR %

If anything I think you would be a partial responder but definitly not naive, what kind of response did you have in 98

What does it matter?  I would not call you treatment naive, but not sure I could put a name on you.
