sholuld i need hcv ab ?

Hi all ,
I little paranoid over bbv's . Before 4 months i had less risky exposure . Due to anxiety i underwent HCV PCR which turned back +ve at 1month after exosre and but HCV PCR at 8 week came back as -ve .

Till now i have not had hcv ab test . But i have had liver enzyme 5 times between 9 to 15 weeks all of which showed normal liver enzyme levels .

Should i need hcv ab at 6 months ?

I thought that the first one could be false positive.

But form the your above answer do you mean that , i may have been infected and cleared spontaneously .

No, I don’t believe HCV antibody testing would be relevant if one HCV PCR result was positive in the past. You may have been recently infected; one of the hallmarks of acute infection is intermittent viremia.

An additional HCV RNA by PCR test at six months and one year post exposure should be considered to rule out chronic infection; hopefully, you will clear the virus spontaneously,
