Don't worry about those enzymes Livin, it's not at all unusual for enzymes to elevate during treatment and it's usually from the treatment drugs.  Some patients have elevated AST & ALT throughout their entire treatment and get a big fat SVR in the end.   Keep on keepin on!

Tkflex:

The PI's are not currently approved for genotypes 2, 3 and 4.  Trials have shown genotype 2 to be responsive but the results for genotype 3 were not good.  Very little data on genotype 4 and if the PI's have been trialed with 4's I am not aware of it.

Awesome news!

Never in the history of treatment for genotype 1 has there been so many people undetected at wk 4 with the addition of the DAA.  High viral load, high BMI, IR, IL28B gene, age and advanced fibrosis doesn't seem to impact on response to the degree it does with Pegylated Interferon and Ribavirin alone.  How could anyone not be excited about the Protease Inhibitors, the results are truly phenomenal.
