Deb,

I'm a "Quester" also.  My GI's office just called me with the results of my CBC and that came out GREAT.  I finally got past the anemia issue and my hemoglobin is up to 14.2.  It took me FOREVER to get rid of the anemia.

My doc always orders the TMA and I bet the results are in by Monday.

Hey girl, this is your thread, enough about me.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS to you!

Mouse, did you get a tma or sensitive PCR and through what lab? believe it or not, i got my TMA  back on wednesday after getting it drawn on friday through Quest.

Adie: I posted elsewhere but would love to come and have some body work from you, can we talk separately?

lauri; unusual sides are infections, costochondritis and pinched nerves, hyperthyroidism.  not THAT unusual per the tx informed consent but not the usuals. I am a geno 4. I am doing peg 180, 1400 riba and will be on week 26 today. they want me to do 48 but I'm thinking 36 might do it and gish is softening on that.

My 6 mos. post appt. with GI is on  the 27th.  However, if my results come back before then my GI will have his nurse call me with them.  He's real good about not making me wait any longer than I have to.  Even if they come in the day before my appt.  he'll let me know what they are.

Thanks for the prayers!

From reading here :), no anemia is good. Still trying to research ways to head it off. Without reading 150 back post.....what wierd sides you having? And your type 1? What tx are you doing for 48 weeks? All I hear is how type 1 has to do 1 to 1/2 yrs. tx? (type 2b here, start tx Tues.)

Mouse, when you getting results on your 6mths. post labs? Know the bl was yesterday.
Put you in my 'please, please, please' prayer this AM :}

i was never 'really' anemic.  the only reason i felt anemia effects is because my starting hemoglobin was 16.9 and dropped to 12 in, what about four-six weeks. the fact that it came up to 13 and change from twelve and change during tx is a good thing. remarkable really. now if i can get rid of all of the other weird sides i'll be in good shape.

Great for you. Still can not follow all the blood work, but I'm learning. Assuming the hemoglobin means no anemia?? Keep it up. I'm having a Tonic w/ a splash of cranberry and dbl lime for you! :)

they never DO explain to me why it goes up on treatment.

Thanks, Dointime!

I spoke with Gish today a couple of times and there was no discussing of ending. I have to wait two weeks before we discuss it again. I am getting "jollied along"  I think.

mine have always stayed a bit elevated since I started tx, but I know I have fatty liver - But, the Clinic I go to told me that Pegasys (not sure if that is what you are on ) stores fat in the liver while on tx and after 2 weeks post tx it goes away - I almost don't even look at my enzymes anymore - it is to nerve wracking - I always think "breakthrough"

Don't know why the enzymes are elevated. Prior to infection they were 14 and 17 , at a 4 weeks of treatment they were in the 20s.  It is apparently the treatment itself, because I've lost weight since onset of treatment.  No one has ever said fatty liver at all.

Hanging in.  I am feeling much better now that the Riba has been reduced to 800 mg per day.

Well, gotta talk to Gish tomorrow. I am still sticking to our plan.

The only caveats are that my hyperthyroidism is much worse AND
my kidney function is trending downward.

but he'll get with me tomorrow.

how you angel?
