abbreviation lab work definitions and numbers

I have a copy of my lab work results but I can't make heads or tails of it.  What numbers should I be concerned with and what are considered normal or elevated? Thanks, Donald

Okay, the likely labs to review would be:

Liver enzymes: ‘ALT/AST’;

Viral load: this is likely listed as ‘HCV RNA QUAL’ (HCV RNA Qualitative)

I don’t know if this helps; if you have additional questions, fel free to list them. Someone will try to help; I will check back tomorrow sometime. Good luck,

Bill

Usually, lab results show *your* result beside what’s known as a ‘reference range’. The reference range shows the ‘acceptable’ range that would normally be found for that particular result. For instance, your ALT result might be listed as 45 U/L; within a reference range between 9-60 U/L.

Do you have HCV?
