My husband has hep c and cirrhosis, and he has been sedated several times with Versed for various procedures, with seemingly no ill effects. (Unable to comment on the Demerol, though.)
Hope this helps,

I have moderate fibrosis, I score 11.8 Kpl on my latest fibroscan.

Who told you 11.8 is moderate fibrosis ?
I was told, by my hospital that did my fibroscan (6.8),
4 kpl or less is diffidently no damage
12 kpl or more is diffidently cirrhosis
anything in between, is in a Grey area,,,
but 'more than likely around 8 is stage 2-3'...
BUT
They could not guarantee the grey area #'s. In the grey area, between 4-12 my Dr's don't want to commit to a fibrosis stage number. I understand why.
Fibroscan is a non fda approved scan as of now. And could be a stage or more wrong when in the grey area.
Fibroscans are not as accurate as a good laprascopic bx. Although Fibroscan will tell you if you have no liver damage, or cirrhosis with accuracy.
Might want to ask some more questions about your fibroscan test.
Don't like being the bearer of bad news, but you are real close to 12 kpl

Usually I think when they are talking about this it has to do with what we go through for biopsy.....you have to be awake to hold your breath but they want you to be relaxed. I just got the Versed..........would have liked the Demerol too! ;)
By the way, stage 3 and been SVR two years.
I don't know about Concious sedation but I had unConcious sedation 3 times while tx'ing. They used demerol and a few other meds in the mix. I am now SVR, if that helps.
