Anyone Else

I have been on the trial pertaining sofosbuvir400mg and GS-5816 100mg for 16 days. Well they have been taking 9 tubes of blood from every week , Been 3x already. I was wondering if anyone else gets sick after they do this. I have everytime. I have told them about this and they don't seem worried about it. I get very sick to my stomach, also have bowel movement issues. I mean I got good results on my bloodwork my viral load went from 190,000 to 44. My enzymes went down half of what they where. Now I start giving blood every 2 wks. I never run a fever, just feel horrid. The Pa said its amazing that my viral load went down that in a week.  Just seems odd that I get this way everytime I give blood. Any ideas on why this happens will be appreciated.. I guess back to bed I go. Been sleeping way more then I usually do too.

Hello, congratulations for doing so well.  It sounds wonderful that it is working so fast.
I think Eckie has a good idea about taking some food with you.
I remember when I would go to get the blood work one of the technicians said that I should try to make sure I was very hydrated before the blood draw.  It is more difficult to draw the blood if you are dehydrated.
This will probably sound silly but I did not watch them take the blood as I thought it might make me sick or dizzy.  I am not saying that is your problem, just trying to think of ways to help.
Again, so happy about your results.
I slept a lot on tx, I was good first thing in the morning but by the afternoon it was bedtime for me.
Take Care

Hi SL,  don't worry what you are feeling is quite normal. That is a lot of blood that they are taking for labs and with the strong meds you are taking its going to take a bit longer for your body to replace those blood cells. I suggest you bring some of and an energy bar with high carbs for after the draw and take a 10 min break before you drive while you drink your on and eat your bar. That being said your #'s sound fantastic in that short of a time. You can see by your labs how powerful these meds are. Keep fighting the fight my friend we are all here for you thru this. Take care!

When I was in a study last June I had to go every 2 weeks to get blood draw and vital signs. I never had the type of reaction you are referring to - however everyone reacts differently to these things. The blood issue could be related to almost anything. Ask to speak wth the doctor about it though. The good news is that the drugs are working for you, Hang in there, you will feel better once this is over.

I took sofosbuvir/ledipasvir and GS9451 and there were times in early part of day I had more energy and then started to get really tired and weak in the afternoon as if my body could not stand anymore and had to crash. I also had issues like you, mostly with constipation though. Had to constantly take stuff to avoid irregularity.
