Cure for Anemia?

Has anyone heard about Carao Fruit? Suppose to cure anemia. I was doing some research on anemia and came across this advertisement. Since allot of people on tx including me are anemic I was  wondering if anyone has tried this amazing fruit. It's suppose to have no sx, and can be combined w/any drug tx.

Perhaps you or your readers would benefit from knowing of people who have much appreciation for the Carao fruit.  My husband and I live in Chandler,  Arizona and have used the product for several years.  I have seen my husband regain his energy (even as a dialysis patient)  by using Carao.  Yes,  it helps with his iron deficiency.  Thank goodness it is available for use.   Iron supplements alone,  or even the expensive medication of Epogen is not enough.   Carao is a natural occuring fruit that we can  give    thanks to Mother Earth for giving  to us.

Wishing you, and your readers,  the best in your  health needs,

Sincerely,

Maxine and Terry Poulton

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for the good advice. I did here something about iron being bad for HCV patients. I don't know why my NP would tell me to take iron. I guess some dr's don't know as much as some of the patients. Hope all is well with you.
best wishes, Darla

Because Iron deficient anemia is the most common type of Anemia,
you get the take iron advice quite a bit.
Even medicos get confused regarding the different types of anemia.

Unless you have low iron levels
Swap your Multi-Vit for one without Iron.

Haemolytic Anemia is caused by the early destruction of the red cells, the only thing tyou can do to try and improve this type of anemia is to take EPO (Procrit).
Its Ribavirin thats the culprit, So it will improve once you finish Tx.

The reason why taking iron is bad for us with HCV is that it is stored in your liver until your body needs it and excess iron can lead to fibrosis.

Thanks for the info and advice. I knew it was to good to be true. I don't quite understand the iron deal. My NP suggested I take iron. I do take a multivitimin w/iron every day and have been taking it with tx. Do you know if this is a good idea? I'm confused.

best wishes,
Darla

you will need to learn what foods increase your iron load, including herbs, vitamins and RX.  Unless you have confirmed low ferretin via blood tests I would go near anything claiming to help anemia....besides which as Csparrow pointed out already nt all anemias are the same.
have you been to a hemotologist?
Everyone out there who is tired, as 3/4 of the coffee soaked comuters are daily is looking for something to boost their energy or blood.
One lady n this forum was almost killed by her doctor misdiagnosing her type f amemia and giving her iron, hastening the degeneration of her liver... Be careful

While all anemia has low red blood cells not all anemia is the same.
There are over 200 different causes of anemia.
This Fruit extract if it does do anything would appear to work in Iron iron-deficiency anemia.
Dr. Luis Carmona's Carao for Anemia Study
The objective was to evaluate this effect in an experimental model of iron-deficiency anemia in rats.

You dont have Iron deficient Anemia, you have Haemolitic Anemia.
This has all the hallmarks of a get rich quick scheme
