I refuse the pharmaceutical treatments. I hear more people say they stop it because of side effects. The doctors are wanting me to take the ultrasound get the biopsy take the treatment. DO you feel you benefited from it?
Rev.. just wanted to say hey. hey.
I guess that's where the Hooch comes in by making it hard to really give a ****.
Perhaps more so for us that don't, especially if at stage 4 already!!
So far managing to avoid AD's though, a good cup of joe once in awhile helps, but don't know how long that's gonna last.
Take a look at this article about the effect of HCV on quality of life. It might give you some insight about the why you're feeling depressed. You must be registered to view but it's free and quick.

The b vitamins increase serotonin, which relieves depression, so you may want to try that.
b12 and b6 in particular are very helpful.you will also build your red blood cells and have increased energy.
the only time i sit during the day is at the computer or piano, I have a lot of energy and I attribute it to the b' vitamins. Niacin is not good for people with liver problems, so you may want to research before considering niacin. Most articles say no to niacin in cases like ours.
hope you feel better.
you;r not alone, had a bad bout about 3 days ago, went to Doc and had a long talk with him, put me on some zoloft, lowest mg. But I think getting it out, and talking helped the most, then rely on your support group-family , friends, people like us who are going through the same thing, need to talk, I talked and cried with my family to let them into my world so they can understand. The tx causes a lot of it so most Docs won't put you on it until 2 weeks of AD's or phych eval, so yeah it's common.
Try googling DHEA and depression. Our hormones are so inflenced by the liver, it may be why this supplement really helped me before treatment. I'm using it again but still with some AD's. Can you believe that with all that, I still get anxiety and depression? Maybe I'm just old (never in my life thought I would say that)
Sure, I can feel that way sometimes too. The meds really aggravate the problem! You can really benifit from an anti-depressant. You should tell your Doctor how bad it is. It can be helped! You should also tell your wife. She probably knows there is something and will be relieved that it is something she can help with.(be there for you) Take care now...
