There are two things going against Sovaldi+Olysio as being a good decision for you. 1. There is no information on the success of Simeprevir with people who have recently failed/relapsed from a protease inhibitor and 2. The GI's seem to hesitant to go off label with those two treatments unless you're desperate need as in cirrhosis.
Later this year or early next there should be at least two treatments with cure rates in the above 90% range. Sovaldi+Ledipasvir(spelling) and the mix from Abbive. Keep your eyes open for those two.
how did she get that to happen? I already called to make an appt to start the interferon rib and solvadi but i keep reading about the off lable solvadi and simprevir and i want to ask my doc if shed see if my insurance would cover it. I'm sooooooo dreading this but at the same time if i had an interferon injection in my hand yesterday I would have started yesterday.
I am so very sorry. I know how devastating it can be to relapse, I did the first time I treated. I was also a 1A.
The second with Incivek I was able to get to SVR and am now considered cured.
It will happen for you. When I relapsed I was told to heal my mind body soul for a year and then try again.
You are very young. It will happen for you.
GrammyA, a member on here, was able to get on the sovaldi/olysis combo and the drug company is paying for her tx.
Take care, regroup, recover from the tx.

You're not alone and you will reach SVR soon. In October I found out I relapsed at what I thought was going to be my svr appointment. I did triple therapy with Telaprevir+Int+Rib for 48 weeks. I am GT 1a, TT, liver biopsy is G2 S2-3, and before the triple therapy I was a non-responder twice in the 90's.Which treatment did you go on? There should be at least two good treatments available later this year or early next I'm hoping they help me. Hang in there.
