Difficulty breathing

My friend has chronic Hepatitis C -- she's in her late 70s.  She sees doc regularly, etc.   She told me she has been having trouble getting a deep breath at night, and she is more confused than she wants to be (aren't we all!).  Is this something that needs immediate attention or can it wait until a doctor's appointment next week?

Thanks....

Oops, sorry I meant to say ribivirin lowers hemoglobin.  Must have the other hemoglobin killer on my mind today.

The boceprevir can lower your hemoglobin so much that you get breathless when in motion, but I don't think she should be having any trouble breathing when not exerted.  I think she should talk to her doctor.   Mild confusion, inability to remember, is common on TX, but that may need attention, too.

Not knowing her medical history or being doctors we really can't comment on it all that well but definitely she should call her doctor as hepc without drastic liver damage or complications of some sort I can't imagine breathing or confusion difficulties anyway.

Always when in doubt call the doctor right away.

The confusion is not an urgent issue.
The shortness of breath may be-you could phone the doctors office and mention it.
They may tell her to come in straight away depending on her medical history.
