Elevated SGOT SGPT

Hi

My SGOT, SGPT readings are 180,233.No hepatitis a, b, c results negative. Abdomen ultrasound normal and had never been in any sort of medication. Cholesterol level is also normal, No accidents, Non- alcoholic .I am worried about my elevated liver enzymes. Recently I had to travel a lot is that because of traveling and change in water. Will my count reduce if I follow strict diet?

Thanks

Your liver enyzyms are little high but mine have been in that range. But then I have HepC.
If the UltraSound didnt show anything that suggests no Fatty Liver, and possibly Gall Bladder is ok too.  If not for the high ALTs everthing else looks good.
There is one Hepatitis Virus you havnt tested for and that is HepE. Mostly found in Asia but still worth a test, if you have travelled. Maybe test for AIH (Auto Immune Hepatitis) as well.

Are you taking any pain medication or anything herbal as some drugs and herbs are liver toxic.

Yep that is elevated... We are certainly not doctors .I would discuss with your physician. Perhaps you will need to be retested again in the near future for HepA, B, &C.
What did he say? Doe he want you to be retested?
Wish you good luck.

i believe thats impossible. The SGOT & SGPT numbers do not go that high. You must of made an error in understanding them. When I was acute my SGOT and SGPT were only in the low thousands.
Call you physican and go over it.
