Hi,
My father is 60 yrs old and complained of weakness and bloated stomach. He is a tee-totaler. The liver scan had the following findings after adminitration of
3McI OF 99M tC-phytate.
Findings:
1) The liver shape appears abnormal. The right lobe upper half seems to be humped upwards. The left lobe shows an elongated extension upto the upper pole of the spleen. The inferior margin of the right lobe appears to be situated higher level anteriorly than the posterior surface which appears normal. This difference between the two surface is seen as anarea of reduced uptake or exaggerated gall bladder fossa. The entire liver shows uniform and normal tracer uptake.
2) The spleen is normal with normal tracer uptake.
3) the Vertebral marrow is NOT visualised.
He also has increased levels of Bilirubin and SGOT.
Ultrasound seems normal. Could you please comment on this.
Thanks
Ranjini
