Could I have a false positive? (very low s c/o ratio)

Hello, all. I just recently got an STD screening and everything came up negative except Hepatitis C. My s c/o level is very low though: 1.57 to be exact. They're doing more tests.  Would you guys say there's a good chance it was a false positive? I'm very worried right now, somebody please alleviate my fears. I won't know the results for these next tests until next week.

I'm in a low-risk group. I'm a 25-year old male, never done drugs, never been exposed to blood or had a transfusion. I have had unprotected sex with a few females in the past though...

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Heh, docs are funny like that. I guess their probably used to most people who never ask questions, they just take the short answer and do what the doctor says. So, they just don't go into much detail unless pressed.

Then again, you just never know with legal issues nowadays. The doc may just not have wanted to make any statement one way or another till he/she had all the info.

Sad but true.

I never do anything to my body until I know exactly what it is, what the risks are, and what the potential benefits are. Then I take the pro's advice, but I decide what will be done.

Again, that number is like, almost not even registering.

Man... that is great news to hear. I just want to know why my doctor didn't mention s c/o to me and I had to research it on the internet myself. This was AFTER I nearly had a nervous breakdown and my parents nearly had one.

That is extremely low. Mine was like 28. I'm thinking you're probably in good shape!
