yea, they forgot that this was a place of medical advice and refuge for people who are severely sick. they got us confused with a bunch of teenagers who want to show off their pictures, see alot of flashing lights and "join a community". what a travesty .with this new flashy interface we will probably be flooded with questions like "i stubbed my toe and im real tired all the time, do i have hepatitis c?"
med help, go jump in the lake
Yea, this is terribly disappointing. What was a classic, clean streamlined easy on the eye...GREAT forum now looks like utube or my space or some other get to know ya forum. Not a medical forum at all. It must be time to go...maybe.
I totally agree with all you said. At this point why dont they throw in a dating service here and match us all up while there at it.
Really didappointing. Unfortunately if MH knew how we all feel it wouldnt be this way.
The blue background is a hell of a lot better than the bright white, much easier on the eyes, so thats a good thing.
Sure hope the disappearing text isnt one of your new features you intend to keep though

I thought the new pic was that of the New York Rockettes Chorus line until I lowered my glasses. LOL! Cute pups tho.

I agree with the general comments. The misuse of real estate is a major mistake. There is now much less valuable information on each page and that makes it much harder to use the forum.
Perhaps it is time for those of us that are interested, to start a competing website that can stay focussed on the medical goal instead of trying to compete with facebook.
I've actually thought about that off and on for quite some time. Starting a site really dedicated to hepatitis C and its treatment, that is. A real site that's not about glitz, or flashing lights, or a bunch of BS teeny bopper features that nobody wants. Simple and straightforward with an emphasis on people communicating with each other and sharing information. Why must some people make something that should be so easy so difficult? Boggles the mind.
Maybe my computer is compromised but my pages aren't loading completely. Some post headlines look as if the bottom was exacto-knifed off. The text body blinks out on some threads before opening them. There is a very long political thread with 330 plus replies that won't open for minutes. My feeling is that having to open not only all the text.....but all those redundant photos and links to the membername pose too much of a load on my platform.
I'm sorry you are having problems. The light blue background is an improvement. I'd have to echo the compaints about the newer format. I'd prefer the older one where...... as Mre put it, "content was King". The new format may have just placed people with dial-up into a seperate caste. (anyone else with loading issues, laggy ?)

G.morning (Buenos dias, lol :} ..or is it morning? What day is it?? J/K!
I had mentioned that in another post...SOMEWHERE....about the lagging /freezing up/ time to get 'back to forum' or even pull up post!
And I have new comp. and high speed wireless!
Someone had said they have dial up and it's useless to try and use this site. This is just too much change , too fast. I, for one, have been on here @ 1/3 the time I normally am (while tx-ing/home) and have posted very little. Can't even 'find' post, let alone tell which ones I'd like to or need to open. It was nice to come here and talk /learn/vent even debates and learn :} as opposed to watching TV all day on a down tx day. My brains really going to be melting away quicker now :} Guess I can Google everything I ever wanted to learn more on!
I don't like it either and agree with everyone. I like the old color as well.
Anyone but me having problem because the side columnes are still bright white? The contrast with the blue makes the white hurt my eyes even more. Why not make the background in all columnes blue? And I am getting muscle ache in my arm of all this scrolling.
Medhelp, please! I am sick enough as it is.
If it's not broke, don't fix it!!!
It is very contrasty, and making my eyes ache!!
MedHelp, this new interface is terrible. i can't even tell how many comments there are in each posted subject, cant open and read the entire comments if they are long.
please make the necessary corrections asap. thanks! Srd
MM, Andiamo,
great idea about another site.
But how??????
MH,
Ok, I will log on maybe once a day but it's under protest. For example, I'd love to post about today's Dr.'s visit and my HgB dropping another point to around 10 and get some feedback but I'm just not inpsired to go through the effort.
Bring back the old site!!!!!!! PLEEEEEEZE!

"At this point why dont they throw in a dating service here and match us all up while there at it."
Well, as long as it's a free service...not a bad idea ;}
J/K...JUST KIDDING!!
Watch...medhelp will take this bogus feedback into consideration! :}
...though right now, I could use a sugar daddy.... lol
My Father in heaven is taking care of my financial needs..it's amazing and true.
Sincerely,
y
I agree all the bleak white on the sides is still hard on the eyes, it should be subdued to a muted eggshell or preferably IMO back to a sandstone/mocha-like color. The right column is still way too big, in fact it shouldn't be there at all. That space belongs to the text in our posts. And this site IS choking my new comp and high speed wireless connection, can't imagine what's happening for those on dialup. I've also lost several posts recently, I write them and submit and poof they end up in cyber oblivion (which might happen to this one too!). And then before that it was multiple repeated posts over and over again, and then a locked up/crashed browser at the same time. Unless something happens soon I'm smelling a mass migration to another site that's more responsive to its users needs.
I'm loosing my comments too... :-(
I think I'll stop using this forum ... it is easier to get it out of my system now, when it became such a pain!.... unless... MedHelp abandon this new user-unfriendly format...
All the best!!!
"Unless something happens soon I'm smelling a mass migration to another site that's more responsive to its users needs."
Yeah, I'd support a decent site that didn't do THIS. The only change I ever wanted was a search engine that could actually find what I was looking for. I was a happy bunny with the rest of it. Not any more.
dointime.
I'm new here and not sure what "THIS" is that you are talking about. Site seems t work fairly well for me, but I don't know what it use to be like so I can't compare.
Okeee, well at first I felt all alone as if NO ONE was here with me,,now tonight I STILL FEEL ALL ALONE,,but a different alone feeling. Before it was like we were in a little meeting place - I said "happy hour" gathering,,,but NOW this is what I feel,,,,before we were in a little town park hanging out talking about our disease,,,,,NOW it feels like its not a small park BUT DISNEYLAND and there are so many people around me,,,but I AM LOST AND LOOKING FOR THE PEOPLE I KNOW AND CAN'T FIND THEM.
Its nice we have the added or extra new room,,,but I truly feel I am searching for someone I know in the huge amusement park..JIm are you here???????? OH Jimmmmmie, oooh wait, I hear a motorcycle,,,is that mikesimon??? I wonder if he would let me ride on the back of his bike to look for the others?
Yeah I am still alone in here, but there is a crowd around me and I am looking for everyone. This really is not a good feeling. I am joking around, but only to help myself from being bummed out.
MH, please we need our old format. Please let us have it back. This is like having a bunch of Rockin' Rollers show up to their favorite rock club that has gone DISCO without letting us know,,,,and that big disco ball hanging in the middle of the room.
Please consider what we are all saying and think, really think, how a bunch of rockers would feel looking at their favorite club turn into a disco room.
The one thing that is good about it is that I don't or won't be spending as much time here cause it makes me frustrated being here.
And I am sorry that I am complaining but I really can't help it - I can't.
I have kind of a strange question...
I notice that we - the hep community - post a lot when there are changes we don't like and since I am newer to the medhelp boards (only finding this place after I found out I'd tested positive for hep c at the end of August or beginning of September) - I was just wondering how much of the actual medhelp board total community is comprised of us heppers.
Are we a large community overall comparitively? Like, are we bigger or smaller than heart problems or gastro or std's or whatever else is out there? I ask because I wondered how likely it is that our opinion on site changes matters in the grand scheme of things (since the changes occur to the entire site and not just our two forums) - I figure if we're more active and have a lot more members than the other topics we probably have a little more clout? and vice versa... ?
Hate to admit it but I'm starting to adapt to the new format. Not having to scroll from left to right has some advantage, but I agree that the white borders have to be darkened some so easier on the eyes. One downside, however, is that since you don't see a lot of posts, stuff is going to get lost very soon. So why doesn't that political thread on the other side get lost :)
