I took my first dose of Olysion and Sovaldi with dinner last night. Had a bit of a headache. Overslept this morning by a lot. Today I'm feeling tired and lackadaisical. Glad I took the day off from work but would have been mostly fine if I'd gone in.
Closest analogy I can think of for how I'm feeling today is a mild hangover: No Biggy, but I'll be glad when I'm feeling better. (Did a bunch of leisurely cleaning around the house as I'm a bit bored.)
Also feeling dehydrated and am drinking the 8 glasses of water my clinician suggested no problem. My side effects may be from the other meds I take (trazadone for sleep and oxyzosin for prostrate) not metabolizing as quickly due to the new meds interaction (so say my clinicians).
I expect I'll be able to continue the gym at a bit of a reduced level and think I'll take this 12 weeks to lose a few pounds, cut out some of the junk food and generally eat better: all good things for my level 3 cirrhosis.
Just my experience. Seems like there are about as many combinations of side effects as people posting. Haven't seen anyone say this combination is terrible.
Getting both meds took a lot of proactiveness on my part. Calling the insurance company to make sure the received the Appeal docs multiple times as there were problems with communication between my Clinic and Insurer's FAX machines. (FAX machines?) At long last was approved and my letter mentions this proactiveness and the RNs who were helping me over the 5 weeks it took to get paperwork into the correct peoples hands. Hang in there. Cudos to CHA and HPHC ... (received a call from clinic today to see how things are going.)
Best to All
