Thanks you all for detail clarification. I will keep in touch with you all and these posts. I must seek you all understanding and forgiveness if I was acting like too annoying. I am really worried for my wife. Hope we will get used to it soon.
Thank Bill for some of your references and I will discuss with my wife's doctor and wish he listen to our information at least.
I also take note from JennyPenny and jmjm530.
Thank you all again, please help inform me...

No harm with a little forward thinking after the baby is born,eh! It is best to be informed as much as possible before starting treatment for both partners. Aungkyawsan a lot of good info here and what to expect your wife may be going through when she is ready to start treating, stick around and read the posts and then you'll know what to expect also when she is ready. Congrats! Dad.

She should not take any unnecessary drugs during pregnancy.
Fluvastatin will only help cure HCV in combination with interferon and ribavrin, Can't see any reason to take it alone for this purpose.
Aung; in an earlier post, you were informed that interferon/ribavirin were not to be taken during pregnancy, as this may cause damage to the fetus. None of the products mentioned so far have any significant effect *by themselves* for HCV management. It is important to note that interferon/riba must be used in conjunction with these drugs for any significant effect on the virus. HCV is generally a very slow moving disease; it will not harm the mother to wait until she delivers her child to begin any treatment regimen.
Getterdone; I can see how that info might have been misleading or misunderstood. I hope this message clarifies any inconstancies… good catch.
Bill
Yo Bill, if it was she who had asked the question it would be one thing, have you been there before? This if for my wife who is 4 month pregnant. I think the baby is still developing but could be wrong.

Hi Aung,
I agree with Foofighter; it would be good to get Doctor Dietrich’s thoughts on this matter. It appears the doctor’s last visit here was 11/10/08; he should visit again soon. Here is the link:

Statins are currently being used on a limited basis here in the U.S. as an adjuvant treatment (in combination with interferon and ribavirin) for HCV. My doctor here in California is using statins in some cases because they have already been approved by the U.S. FDA, and some studies do show promise.
Additionally, another drug your wife’s doctor might consider is Nitazoxanide (brand name in the U.S. “Alinia”). This is also approved and available in the U.S. to treat diarrhea caused by the parasitic ‘Giardia’. This drug has demonstrated potent antiviral properties in clinical trials; so far, it has been used in conjunction with interferon and ribavirin:

Good luck to you and your family—

Hi Foo,
Really encouraging!!! Thank you so very much.
Have you posted in the Hep C Expert section? I know Dr. D was gone for a while and sometimes it is hard to get the question in, but the situation warrants a doctor's advice (and hopefully you will find that your liver doc is giving you good info). I don't think there is any treatment that doesn't involve interferon for curing HCV. Always a cocktail of drugs that are not good for babies.
I imagine you will have to put treatment on hold until after baby arrives and since your wife's liver function tests are good, your family will have plenty of time to evaluate the best course of medical care going forward.
It is so hard not to worry! But you have found the right place. People are here for you.
Foo
Thanks for the comment jasper...
To be down right honest here tell her check with "her doctor" about anything other than what he tells her she can take if anything at this point.
