Hello before getting to SVR, and actually before treating, I had cryoglobulemia, it was awful, I would go through phases of red dots, then purple splotches, then the swelling would start and the awful pain as if my ankles were broken. After I started treating it went away and now it has been 15 months since the end of my tx it has not returned.
My legs look so much better, the iron stains that the cryo caused are going away.
best wishes
Dee
Hi Tara
All the best with regard to your treatment. I had Geno 2b and did treatment with Peg & Ribavarin for 24 weeks. I achieved SVR so i wish you all the best. I did not have Cryoblobulemia though.
All the best Linda
Dee....... that is great it has been 15 months since you had it..... will that come back?? take care Linda
I personally know a g-2 who had serious issues with vasculitis caused by/related to cryoglobulinemia; they went away during tx and have never returned eights years since SVR. She still has the scars and nerve damage prior to tx, but no new eruptions or symptoms. I hope your tx stops your cryoglobulinemia in its tracks, too! Good luck with that and your tx from a fellow g-2.
Thanks much for sharing, will keep good thoughts.
Tara
Thank you very much, good luck to you too!

Take care. Tara
I possibly have it i am waiting for blood results on the 23rd sept 2013

I have cryos also, and get treated once a year for them with pheresis, when I am up to it. Tube in chest for a couple months, while blood gets washed maybe 9 times. First experience was unbelievably great! cleared my foggy head after my first round with the old hcv treatment, and took a lot of pain away. Did pheresis in 2011, at UCSD (San Diego) with Dr. Gish, but it never went completely away for good because I still have hcv. Cryos still want to fight virus, round and round we go.
Did it again in 2012, this time with central line and tubes in my Neck! Not recommended. Almost bled out when they removed the lines. Bad bad experience, but know to take control next time. Well worth looking into, just that here in Las Vegas, they don't have it down. Will go to LA to Cedars Sinai if I want it before hcv treatment. Dr. G feels that the hcv treatment doesn't work if the cryos are present prior to treatment. He would have pheresis to wash the blood first, then the hcv treatment. Will see what the game plan is for this next hcv treatment, in January?..and let you know. See doc on 17th. Dec.
