Hair AGAIN :(

Ok, aprox 7 weeks of post treatment, soc for geno 2 and my hair is still a mess. Seems like forehead around my face is very thin and still shedding. Anyone else who has finished treatment still having this problem? Other than that I feel great, hmg up to 13.5 last lab two weeks ago. heading in the right direction I hope.

I am 5 weeks EOT and I have been wondering when this was going to stop!  My hair still breaks off and I am hoping its just the last of the damaged hair from being on treatment.  Its the last side effect I have left and I hate it. Its hard for me to believe its going to come back but from what I read on here, it will. Besides for that, I feel great. I have to remind myself I just finished tx, I keep forgetting I did it!  Thats a good sign. I brought a new bike yesterday to celebrate. I am back to running EOD for 45 min, swim 3 x week and walk my dogs. Life is GOOD!!

Hi I went to a hair salon just to talk to the woman who sometimes cut my hair, she took a look and said she could not only see tiny baby hairs but also dots where new hair would be coming in.
Needless to say, but I will anyway, it made me feel so much better, gave me hope.  As long as there is hope there is life, well at least for me
Much love

Hi this might sound a little silly however I can do nothing with the hair that is left so I bought some tiny hot rollers.  While my hair is still sparse it doesn't look it.  Maybe you could try something like that.  Also a friend of mine on here started hot combing her hair and that seemed to help.  Hey, what ever you have to do to feel better is good.
Orphan Hawk is right, it will grow back, some people get better than ever now that the virus is not attacking our liver.
I did not think I had enough hair for two rollers.  I was wrong.
As your blood work normalizes you will get better and will start to see baby hairs popping up everywhere.  You may have to look at first however you will see them.  Best to you

I was reading some of your posts and it seems like treatment was really hard on you toward the end. I have a feeling things will start to fall into place now that your lab values are restoring themselves. The other thing is that waiting for your next viral load can be almost as stressful as the ones during treatment.  I would imagine a large part of you hasn't really breathed easy yet. Still, don't worry: Your hair *will* grow back!!

After my first tx, the baby hairs grew in first, followed by my own thick mane.
Having finished tx the same as you, my hair seems to finally have stopped falling out, and there are little hairs growing in along the hairline.

Of all the long terms side effects people complain about, I've never heard anyone included permanent hair loss.
Some people's hair grows slower than others. Be patient.

You could try adding biotin supplements to your diet, some say that helps.
A hairdresser once told me she takes pre-natal vitamins to help her very thin hair.

Good luck.

Hi I know it is frustrating, I had the same thing for over two months after treating. It got very bare and I was afraid I was going bald.  I did get some bare patches.   At the same time I was noticing all these baby hairs so that was a good sign.  Finally now after close to 3 months post tx the hair is not falling out like it was and the baby hairs are getting long enough to help cover the bare spots in my scalp.  I am glad you asked this question.  I have been wanting to ask if there is anything new out there to help with the hair loss however I know I have a tendency to "beat a dead horse" or subject to death. :)  Who knows?  Maybe someone will come up with help?  I have been taking vitamins since finishing tx, not sure if it is helping or not however I got to the point I would try anything.  The happy news is being UND and I think it is worth losing our hair.
My best to you, congrats for finishing
