They actually have a bunch of different type of papaya leaves and extracts on AMAZON...
There are alot of places online where you can buy papaya juice and dried papaya-cindy
Has anyone tried making broth with meat bones or chicken w/ bones? I was told this is also a good way to increase platelets.
does papaya leaf Juice help to reduce blood pressure. Can I drink one tumbler of juice each day. Juice is done by grinding in the mixer.
Why don't you try a Thai store, they might have them. If not they might be able to get them for you. Just a thought
Yes - no cast iron in our house, also no non-stick pans. We use the Le Creuset enamel coated cast iron and I bought a ceramic frying pan, so that we are not getting iron leaching in to add more poison to DH's system. He has some hemachromatosis - which is iron overload in his system. I read a lot about the foods to avoid for high iron content and it is a lot of organ meats, meat in general and then some veggies are high in iron - but some are better eaten raw vs. cooked. Sugar increases consumption of iron - and tea or coffee with meals inhibits consumption.... So much to keep track of and remember! I am interested in these papaya leafs, though.
Thats kind of a good point because I remember my doctor saying not to cook with cast iron skillets anymore. I dont know how exactly true that is (he wasn't the best hep doc in the world and I didn't bother to ask Dr. J) but it's what he said.
I would not grind anything I ingest with iron.
Does anybody know where to get papaya leaves in the US?
Yes I will. I intend speaking to a reputable Ayurvedic practitioner to see what they suggest.
Let me know when u find one dude coz in a few days, there wont be any Papaya leafs left in my neighbourhood.Besides pplz are already on their toes to protect their plants after seeing me :).Guess Hep-C had made me famous :(
Does anyone know of a reliable source. Cant get papaya leaves in the uk.
U can also crush papaya leaves in a mixer-grinder, followed by squeezing the pulp in a filter or muslin cloth. The juice thus collected can be consumed. In any case, you are not supposed to consume more than 1-2 spoons of juice in a day.
I didn't realize that you are from India. Unfortunately I can not just grind papaya leaf here in the US. I would gladly do it if I could.
Seems like getting your hands on papaya leaves might be a challenge for some people not in the tropics or subtropics.
I just wash the leafs and grind it with stone or iron.Put the pulp in the cloth and squeeze out the juice.Two-three leafs are good enough to get 2 spoons of juice, which is a recommended dose for a day.
Yes, there is anecdotal information that papaya leaf juice can boost platelets. Some patients with ITP have success with it. Can you, please let me know where do you buy your juice? I saw some papaya leaf extract for sale, but no juice.
Thank you in advance for info.
