1976-1978 air inj and I was a medic and I have hep c and cirrosis

I am just beginning to look into this as it has basically ran my life and had no clue as a dumb %$# teen in the U.S. Amy from 1976-1979. We gave each other shots with the same needles while TDY to Landstuhl Germany Hospital to practice. Man oh man, clean practice was not the norm. Every time I went through those air injection lines people were bleeding all over the place, shut up and keep the line moving, yes Drill Sargent. Then to go over sea's had to get them again, same result, dang, the feds have made a mess of things and don't really care from what I am reading. I went through the treatment with the help of my wife at 56 years old, just about had to get to the liver transplant center to get on the list because of my blood platlets and white blood cells freaked out because of the treatment half way into it, I would have died waiting for a liver. I now have stopped the Hep C but have stage 3 cirrhosis from it. I just started reading today, I guess I have a lot of catching up to do before I kick the bucket. If anybody has a good place to start, I would appreciate a link?  Thank You in advance folks and good luck to everyone that was infected, it's been a painful 38 damn years !!!

I am 99% sure I got my hep c at the Landstuhl hospital in 1974.  Wasn't from an airgun, but from a shot of pain killer received from a nurse.  Got a liver in 2001 and still have the hep c.  Changed my life forever, too.

Hope you start feeling better.

The Veterans Administration has finally recognized the air guns as a link to hep c and a service related disability. They have a 39 page document on their website how they plan to address it.  However, it's very disheartening in my opinion. People that served our country especially during that time deserve the utmost priority of treatment and it just isn't happening.
