3 & 2 or 2 & 3

If you're taking 5 Riba daily, does everyone take 3 in the a.m. and 2 in the p.m.? Does it make any difference? Husband thinks he should take 3 in the p.m. because he'll have more food in his gut for absorbsion, docs say take the 3 in the a.m.

Both points are valid. Taking 3 in the evening (if that is your biggest meal) may be easier on your stomach. Conversly taking 3 in the morning, may make for a better night's rest. I see no real problem experimenting with both.

i took my 3 in the pm as i could sleep through some of the sides.
also, it is VERY important to eat a high fat meal with every dose or up to 80% can not get digested and lost. that is on the directions in the box.

Just as FlGuy said: doesn't matter, Riba has a long halflife. My suggestion is to take it when you eat more and more fatty food.
This helps to avoid gastrointestinal problems from Riba and the bioavailability is better after a good meal.
You could take 2-1-2 too. I think this would be the best, but I have no publication at hand to support this.

Since riba has a long half-life, it doesn't matter for the purposes of continual dosing.  But some seem to find that more riba, and riba late in the evening, may inhibit easy sleep.  For me, my sleep patterns have been whacked out for the entire tx no matter what I do.  That might be the 'normal' thing I miss most - a long restful night of sleep.  But, eat those pills I do.  Fanatical about it.

My nurse told me to take 2 in the am and 3 in the pm, so that is what I do. Works fine, I am on week 41 now. Really don't think it matters so much,  just let your husband do what he feels comfortable with. Zazza

I've heard that the Riba tends to make you not sleep well. Thus, docs suggest to take the smaller dose in the evenings.
Others with more knowledge and experience than I will surely post.
