Good luck Lynn, for sure everyone has their individual issues. It is so terrible so many of us didn't know we had this disease for so many years. You have to wonder how it influenced other aspects of our health. It will interesting to see how our overall health changes after we are virus free.
Hep c gone after 2 weeks. Geno 2 Solv/Ribv. 12 weeks. Cirrhosis. Starting week 5 today. 8 weeks to go. Feel GREAT. Noticed yesterday and today little nausea but not bad. No more aches and pains either. Blood work again. Virus undetectable still. Hope you guys get on it soon. Will keep you posted on any new side effects. Kim
I am doing tx for 12 weeks & then a 12 week SVR period....
Started Sovaldi/Ribov 12 week plan about 4 weeks ago! So far so good! No major side affects. Will keep all posted.
I have BCBS and they approved without issue. Still crazy to think im taking a pill every night that cost a $1000!
1 600 mg ribov morning and 1 at bedtime
1 sovaldi at bedtime
my insurance approved sovaldi and ribavirin, my doctor said that geisinger insurance is getting it at a cheaper price from gilead(the maker). for those with insurance questions, my insurance denied it the first time, being they needed a pregnancy test done. I did the pregnancy test and 2 days later received the call from geisinger that the pre authorization was approved!! YAY!! im super excited! I recieved the medication through UPS caresite on Friday feb 28th. spoke to my doctor march 3rd, and started my first dose today. I am on sovaldi once a day and 1000 mg of ribavirin twice a day daily. I am doing the 12 week treatment... my question is for those that took it the first day have you felt any side effect, I worked today, and felt my eyes closing, I came home and took a 3 hour nap, I feel a little better now, but will be taking the remainder doses of rib in an hour or so.. also im in PA, and it is only in the 20s outside, but I have my heat on 80 and im freezing. has anyone else had symptoms like so the first day? or is it all in my head :/ or possibly I am coming down with a cold, being the weather is soo crazy here..Also wanna wish everyone luck during your treatment!!
gator, awesome. I have BCBS and hope that the approval process for the same will be smooth, though my company may change insurance at the end of the month (great timing, eh? my appoint. is on the 26th. I hope they stay with BCBS). The end of the month and the beginning of treatment can't come soon enough. Did you start with the 600 mg ribavirin twice a day or 1000 mg twice a day and then dropped to 600 mg? I am 109-110 lbs and was hoping that they would put me on only 600 mg, but everything I read says they will likely start me with a 1000 mg twice a day.
oomimioo, yeah! I haven't started yet, but others haven't reported any such symptoms on the first day. Perhaps someone will come along with a similar experience. I hope you are feeling better today. Sounds like you have/had a fever. Did you take your temperature?
Best of luck!
