Telaprevir Trial

Why is there only 3 sites on the Clinical Trials list where trials will be held? The same 3 have been listed for several weeks now. I thought i had read there will be around 100 sites. Also vertex said trials would start in April, how will any new sites that are added get set up and screen patients that fast to start the trial this month? Nothing moves fast with drug companies or the FDA. Thank the Lord that HCV is a slow moving disease for the most part.

I can't answer about the sites, but I do know that my research coordinator has a meeting about the upcoming trial on April 11th.  We will be called in for further screening -they can only accept 10-and then start sometime in May. So, you may still have time to get in if you find a center in your area.

Keep us posted-if we both get in we can compare notes.

Most sites don't post on the clinical trials list.   You have to call all the major medical centers near you and ask for the research coordinator for the GI department.  That is how I got into prove 3.

If you live near a major city, you will probably find a center that is participating.
Good luck,
Eric
