Help please

Only my second day but I got up with a terrible headache and I forced myself to eat at 6 and got the 3 Riba and 2 Telaprevir at 6.30am. One hour later I felt really nauseaus and I took a Zofran which helped and the sensation stopped

At 10.30 I had a bout of nausea and before I knew it I threw up everything. This is 4 hours after I took the meds. There was lots of meds taste but is it any chance that I absorbed it in those 4 hours? What am I suppose to do now?

Have you had that?

I agree with the others, about the absorption after 4 hours. I tried to take my riba about an hour after incivek in the morning. I would then take my second dose of riba at about 3 in the afternoon with some applesauce, which would also be about an hour after the second incivek dose. The zofran worked really well for me but it can cause headaches itself. I also drank camomile tea and gingerale (the real stuff) and I used something called sea bands; they are actually for sea sickness and are wrist bands that uses accupressure. They really did help. Others have used ginger tea, but I think it tastes like dirt. I Applesauce does help also, well it did for me anyway.

You also took your first interferon injection yesterday evening so the headache may have been a side effect along with the increased nausea.

The meds for the most part would have been absorbed in the four hours,so not to worry there
.At worst even if some of the absortion of the Incivek was not complete it was only one dose and again .you would have absorbed enough to be effective

coeric brings up a good point about possibly the Riba and the Incivek at different times as both together often we hear about increased nausea.

The intake of the 20 grams of fat is very important also for full absortion of the Inci,so pay special atten to that .

There are others that may chime in tr give you some good advice on their particular remedies for the nausea .however it seems zofran has worked well for most.

Good luck with you tx...

i would take your next dose at the time you have scheduled.  i would also not take the riba at the same time as the telaprevir.   you might want to take the riba a little a little later in the day.  the riba has a long half life.  i was told i could take it all at once instead of taking in twice a day if that worked best for me.  about half way through the 48 weeks, i took the riba only once a day.  i found ginger tea was helpful for me.  perhaps someone will chime in about taking the zofran before you take the antivirals.
