Hep C therapy and Diabetes Meds

Does anyone know what type of reaction one is likely to get by mixing Metformin and Victoza with meds for Hep C?  These are non insulin meds.  I am particularly interested in the interaction with Victoza which is a good stabilizer.  Both of these meds can cause some stomach distress.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a year prior to HCV. I've used metformin, glipizide and actos (pioglitizone) for eight years now for DM2 management; including during both HCV treatments. I was eventually successful with interferon therapy, for what it's worth. I can't comment on the victoza; I have no personal experience with it.

Reducing insulin resistance might be critical to succesful inteferon-based therapy as well.

Good luck,

Research led by the University of Leeds has found drugs such as anti-diabetic drug Metformin and AICAR, used to combat obesity, can prevent the hepatitis C virus from replicating in the body.

i was on metformin during several tx attempts - i cant say if it helped in my vl reduction - i can say it didnt help my diabetes
