Hep C- worried with no insurance

I was dx with Hep C in 2207 and  was told that I did not require tx at that time. I have not had any testing since that time and am concerned that my disease may be progressing without my knowlege. I do not have any insurance at this time, and our familey earns too much to qualify for any govt medical help. Are there any testing/tx programs available for people in my situation at a reduced cost?

There are many physicians who are still conducting medical trials that are sponsored by the drug companies and are free.  Start contacting the Hepatologists in your area to ask if they are doing the medication studies.  In Houston, "Research Specialists of Texas," on Fannin Street, would be the one I'd recommend.  Look them up on the web for their number.  I did a Telepravir study with them for non-responders that, supposedly, cured me.  I'll be going back in 4-months for a 2-year post treatment check to ensure I'm still negative and to biopsy my liver to check for healing.
