Search function

Is there a way to sort the search results by date or are they just random?

I would like to get the latest posts when I search, not some from forever ago.

I try to search before posting a question, but the posts that come up are very old a lot of times when I have read in the last month or so a post with my search query in the posting title.

Hi.  I had a similar question and was told by MedHelp that they purposely leave up old posts, as it can still help others and/or attract them to the site.  So you should be getting the latest posts, it's just that sometimes when people see an interesting post, they don't always look at the date before they reply.
