Maybe I was lucky but I started feeling better right after the end of treatment, I was off work for all of treatment (48 wks) as well and went back to work 2 wks post tx, I was a 100% by 6 wks post tx and doing great now at 20 wks post tx
Congrats on EOT at 48 wks, I know it is a long haul
Thank you, it was rough, But glad I went for it!!
Everyone is different. I have a desk job and kept working.
I felt a little better the first week after treatment, but still had all the sides. I just felt a bit more energetic. Week two was much better.
Just had my week six blood results back and my blood levels (HGB and white blood cells) are almost back to where they were when I started. My baseline HGB was 138 and I'm now at 127.That would account for the increased energy I think.
I still have some sides, but my energy is very good. I skied two weeks ago and am back at the gym. My cardio is good but my muscle strength is weak because of doing nothing for eight months. Still, this is way faster than I expected.
Hope that helps. If you have a job requiring physical labor, it could be tiring. My advice would be to start doing some exercise as soon as you can to get your strength back up.
Good luck with recovery and here's wishing you SVR!

Hey I am in week 47 as well and I know what you mean. I am semi-functional around the house and the yard but that is not the same as focused work where there is routine and structure. The way I feel right now I can't even begin to picture myself going back to the way things were prior to treatment. I know I am physically tolerating the treatment well but I have lost so much strength, endurance and stamina. And patience. And the ability to concentrate on anything financial or technical.
It is kind of scaring me a little but if I think about it too much right now it has the ability to throw me into a tailspin. I think we both ought to take people's word for it that we will snap out of this mode ...on whatever time frame is meant to be. I am so glad people who treated and got on with their lives are active on this forum.
I hope you keep us posted with how things work out
Hoping & praying SVR for you.
