Agree with Will that is the perfect advice, you do not want to go over 12.
Your doctor should be monitoring your HGB while on procrit ,or at the very least the NP and doing CBC levels regularely and conversing with you the results so as to prperly dose.
If this is not happening you should continue to request a response , especialy in light of the fact that if HBG rises ..(too fast beyond certain levels it can actually cause adverse events)

If the hemoglobin level exceeds 10 g/dL, reduce or interrupt ESA dose and use the lowest dose sufficient to reduce the need for red blood cell transfusions
Recommended starting dose: 50-100 Units/kg IV/SC 3 times/week
CKD on dialysis
