Last report on Ribivarian rash .
I am now a little more than 2 months into using Colostrum only for Rib rash . As i posted above on Sep , 29 , 09 i had a pretty bad case of rash . I can say its still at bay using colostrum . I am still UND at 5 months treatment and on my last round of Meds . I know a lot of folks are scared of using anything to interfear with Meds and i was also . The rash was so bad , i asked all the Doctors i knew and Even contacted the Drug Companys nurses and Pharmacist . So after all said no known interference was known , i proceeded and can say the rash is 90 % gone , i still have some itching , but no welps and red heat rash swaths all over my body . So heres to completing my treatment and getting healthy . Sail10
I do see your points and i am carefull not to take over the counter drugs or supplements if any reasonable chance of harm , like Tylenol , Advill , Asprin , etc.
These on the other hand will cause you no harm if taken sparingly. Everybody (usually hep patients are mostly in the same age bracket)has aches and pains from just living every day life. I took two tylenol every time I took my shot and fortunately was able to avoid 99% of the flu like symptoms.
my boss (a philanthropist and entrepreneur) years ago invested in something that was bovine something that they were hoping to use as a cure for HepC which didn't pan out (not the same thing as here I am sure) I just remembered reading about it when I was diagnosed and he found out he was like look I've been trying to cure this disease for years! He's a great guy (even though he was probably just trying tomake some $$$)
I asked all the authorities i could find and all stated colostrum ( a food product like cheese ) has no known negative reactions to any meds. So i guess we should all look for studies about all foods we also eat to see if they interact with Hep -C meds .

I will update my out come till im off tx. to let all know if i have any problems with colostrum interaction . sail
I think you should take the advice nygirl7 gave.
I would not take a chance on taking something there are no studies to support.
Your doctors probably don't know anything about this Bovine...
Whatever, I don't think I would take Bovine Colustrum while treating for Hep C.
Yes that is what I was saying - as like we are not allowed to take milk thistle while on treatment it's better safe than sorry in my opinion. You do'nt want to screw up getting SVR no matter WHAT.
The studies i have read relate to Bovine Colustrum only , no formal study as to reaction to Interfiron or Rib . But Colostrum is considered a food and no known reactions to any meds although i guess some could be alergic . I have asked my hep Doctor , the field rep for the company that sends me the Hep- C meds , the mail order pharmaist , the nurses from my insurance and med order company that follow me , and they all say their is no known conflict with Colostrum and Doctor says he knows of no problem .
As you know supplements are not regulated and their are few studies about their conflicts with specific meds .

Have you seen any studies that indicate this supplement does NOT affect hepC or it's treatment?
