I28B test by mail?

Hi, everyone! I'm just getting up to speed on the (relatively) new test for IL28B. It sounds like a good thing to have done before making a Tx decision, especially in my case, which is borderline. I queried my hep MD here in Buenos Aires, but I strongly doubt the test is done here yet. Can anyone tell me if It's possible to send blood to the U.S. labs from down here in Argentina (or anywhere else)? If not, I'll have to wait until I'm back in the States (although I have no MD there to give me a scrip!).

Any guidance on this will be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Mike

Yes, you can send blood. You would have to ask the lab how the blood should be packaged and shipped. Sometimes in needs to be frozen. Quest labs and LabCorp are the two laboratories that are doing the tests.
