Help understanding blood results

I got my blood results back today and need some help understanding them.

Biochemistry
NA     136   mmol/L           Bili     10  umol/L
K        3.5   mmol/L           ALP    47 U/L
CL      103  mmol/L           GGT    19  U/L
HCO3  26  mmolL             LD       163   U/L
                                       AST     *63   U/L      ( 0 - 40)
                                       ALT     *120  U/L      ( 0 - 40)

Chol   2.7   mmol/L              Glucose   3.9 mmol/L
( 3.9 - 5.5)
I didn't put everything in cause i know every thing else is within normal range.
My cholesterol is below average, gp says this is fine but am not so sure about this. Also glucose was for fasting (3.6 - 6.0) to be normal which i wasn't. Just wondering what exactly is ast and alt and how bad is this?
If any one could help me it would be great. Thanks.

Here is a good site on all kinds of test. You would want to look for a CBC. It is pretty easy to get around.

http://www.labtestsonline.org/

Or just type lab test online

Her blood sugar is normal.

Her glucose result says 3.9 and the normal range (3.9 - 5.5)

That translates to a blood sugar of 70 and the normal range (70-100)

Here's a site that has a "Blood Sugar Converter" from mmol/L to mg/dL......(bottom of the page)......

http://www.reducetriglycerides.com/reader_triglycerides_conversion.htm

Canadians use "mmol/L".....we use "mg/dl".  So save it for future use.

Your glucose result says 3.9 and the normal range (3.9 - 5.5)

That translates to a blood sugar of 70 and the normal range (70-100)

So that means your result is fine.

I am grade 1 stage 2.
No it doesnt mean your liver damage is progressing more quickly.
It does mean you probably have steatosis though.

Its just a G3 thing.

Oops missed the bit about your alts
Your ALT and AST are enzymes produced by your liver when damage occurs
They give an indication that damage is occuring but dont give much of an idication of how much.

Here a link to the health pages that has a list of acronyms
http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Hepatitis/Common-Hepatitis-C-Acronyms/show/3?cid=64

My Dr told me the same thing about my cholesterol. and you are right low Cholesterol is not good. Its an indication that you have steatosis (Fatty Liver).
Pretty normal for a G3. And not that uncommon for a G1.

If you glucose is high then that is not a good thing either.
You may be Insulin Resistant, to some extent.
But that kinda goes with the steatosis.

Basically your bloods are very similar to mine.

My guess is you are a G3.
Your bloods are fairly normal for a G3.

Your cholesterol is the same as mine.

NA=Sodium
K=Potassiam
CL=Choloride
Hco3=Bicarbonate

All of these go into a calc for your Anion Gap

Hope this helps
