Is anyone taking Ursodiol?

Hi All:

As I said last week, I have developed water retention in my legs and abdomen (free of it for 4 months prior) and this is what the docotor prescribed

a different urine pill (lasilactone)
and URSODIOL which is mean for gall stones.

Is any one of you familiar with this??

thank you very much

Hi:

thank you for the comments.

I was atleast not told that I have PBC, thats why I was wondering about the reason for being given this medicine.

Next time, I will ask the doctor, and in the mean time will look into the website you mentioned.

thank you very much

I've been taking ursodiol for 8 years. it's the classic prescription for primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC). a  nice medicine: it doesn't give side effects. it is a bile thinner, helping it flow through your liver. bile is a powerful detergent - if it's slow it will inflame your tissues.

pbcers.org/Urso250DosChart051704.htm

here you can find a dosage chart and other info about it. do you have PBC ?
I hope you are doing better with your water retention.
