Good luck!
I was a 3 time null responder to interferon based treatment and was diagnosed with cirrhosis in Jan 2008.
I treated with Harvoni for 24 weeks from Nov 2014 to May 2015 and just got a 44 week post test and am still not detected. The 44 week test was mostly for my own peace of mind I was not detected at 4, 12, and 24 weeks post treatment so the 44 weeks was just icing on the cake.
As far as advice just make sure you stay properly hydrated and drink the recommend amount of fluids per day. Some have had mild headaches and some have said the had what is being called a Harvoni high where they feel like they have more energy.
The healing train is leaving the station and you are on board for the ride!
Dear Lynn, you are happy to stay negative , I'm so glad for you. I'm on 9th week of generic harvoni. I have question about ribavirin. I know that your Doc included you Riba in 9th week till the end, did you have some serious problems from riba (anemia, heart or other issues).?Thanks for the answer,
I started on 1200 mg of ribavirin and every week my HGD levels dropped until I reached 9 something my doctor wanted me no lower than 10 so I dose reduced to 1000 mg and stabilized at 10.1
So yeah I had anemia for 15 weeks and dragged myself to the end of treatment. But for the first 9 weeks of just Harvoni I had maybe a couple of mild headaches that was about it.
Dear Lynn , thank you for the answer. I read about side effects, for Ribavirin, it said ,lots of other issues, .... But did you get back to normal your hgb level, after therapy and how fast? I guess that your Doc kept you on 1000 mg of Riba ,till the end of treatment.
Regards!
