It's ok and I can manage

Hi,

just want to share with you that treatment is ok, I can manage it. There are hard days and there are normal days. I'm having some very good days now and appreciate them more than I've ever done before. This experience, putting myself through this, is a journey that I feel can learn me a lot. About life. About being here and now. Accepting things and taking a day at a time.

Just needed to say that this is absolutely manageable.

To all the people scared of treatment - you can do it! And you can learn a lot of it. I'm proud of us all and I'm so thankfull to meet all of you on this forum. You are so warm, intelligent, caring and loving people. Thank you.

Bovary73:  glad to hear that you're managing and taking it one day at a time.  It sounds like you will do fine with treatment.
FaithforHealing:  My husband is in week 24/48, and he has managed pretty well with some mild to moderate side effects, especially during the first 12 weeks with Incivek.  He's only missed 1-2 days of work since starting treatment.
beerless:  glad to hear that you're starting treatment.  Sometimes the anticipation (pre-treatment anxiety) can be the most difficult.  Hang in there.

I'm pre tx, starting soon, so your post is greatly appreciated. As someone else had said, sometimes people in pain are more prone to be drawn to post than those who are just cruising along. TG there is a place to turn for support during the rough times and for all of us to hear all of the good advice that may help ease those times. We never know when it may be our turn to hit a rough spot.
Both are equally important to share. Hearing that it is possible to escape the worst helps to encourage people who may delay or avoid tx because of fear. Thanks for posting.

What a great post!  It's an excellent reminder that while many people do suffer serious side effects, it's not EVERYBODY.  My husband is in week 15 of triple with INC, and while he has had his moments, it really hasn't been as bad as expected.  I think it's important for more people to post their positive experiences as well, both for the people considering tx, and the people that are already on tx.

That's great :) I'm glad you are managing well and have a great outlook as well.
My first week was REALLY rough. My second is not as bad and going by fast. I do believe Tx is the only option. We have to take the good with the bad. The good in this case is SVR. Totally worth it.

Keep up the strength and positive outlook, I hope this thread finds someone qiestioning tx and helps them save their life. :)

I am so glad it's managable for you, i know you were concerned about this at the beginning.  This is very managable for me as well, although I am only doing dual therapy.  I do have rough days, but not bad enough to keep me down or out of work, just makes me want to whine about it, ha...early to bed on those days...

but over all, I think once I beat this thing, it will just be a an upleasant memory and i will be able to carry on with the rest of my life just a little wiser and more appreciative of life.
