That is great news...I also applied for SSD..They sent me to 2 doctors...when I went to one doctor (2 weeks ago today) they sent me to the emergency room because my blood pressure was so high. The doctor put me on something for that and I am also on Ativan because I hve anxiety issues.
Social Security called me and told me that they needed the mobility report completed and then I should get benifits...Faxed that report to them on Tuesday and have not heard anything...How long did it take for you to get yours???Are you getting treatment???
For both you and Mary4now that just posted about the insurance: Went I found out I had Hep C, I applied for long-term disability. Thank God it worked. I was diagnosed with hep C in 2000. Since I was approved for disability , I have medicare. It went pretty fast for me. If you have any more questions, I would love to be there for you. Just ask DTexan2010, that would be me.
Hi, I'm in that same situation, no real $$ either and I"m 61, so I'm not about to start a new career. I asked my GI if there were any studies and learned that there may be in the next town which has a university hospital, but was then told that the town I live in is trying to get a study, because there are so many people here with hep c, so I finally tracked down the place where the study would be held, ( its an HIV care and study center ) and I registered for any upcoming studies 2 yrs. later I am now in a study,
BUT if you live near any teaching hospital or university hospital check them out.
and also check out the website that shows info on all the studies in all the states.
I forget what that site is, but someone here will know.
Good luck,
my only concern with just getting the drugs from these companies is that I would still need a doctor in case something happened and the SOC may not be that effective with genotype 1, however you can also get the allele test and see if your odds are increased with SOC.
You can try contacting the producers of the treatment drugs directly to see if you are eligible for assistance:
Commitment to Care (800) 521-7157
or
PegAssist (800) 397-1258
or you can ask your doctor about any drug trials involving new medications that might be in your area.
Good Luck with it.
