Harvoni side effects concerning digestion.

Hi all, Ive been on here for several years but never posted here on this forum... Well, I finally was approved for Harvoni and began just today. I was nervous at first because of the terrible side effects no one warned us about on the interferon based tx. I'm deliriously happy to report that after taking just one dose I think I feel better (after 50 yrs of fighting this dragon alone every day I finally have some help) I had negligible side effects. (little headache in the morning and a little tired) However, I have made many extra trips to the bathroom and had lots of gas.
Is this related to the tx? If so I have to go buy some ultra soft Charmin or something.
Thanks for being here. A place for real life information and support.

Congratulations on getting Harvoni. This stuff works. 12 weeks cured me and I also did the interferon based tx and I also had hep c for many years. Side effects are many but all are very mild; At least for me and the others whom I know of. Don't sweat it. Harvoni is easy. One tip: Set your phone alarm to sound at pill time everyday. Good luck!

Sounds like you have all your bases covered, so to speak.

Hang in there, the time will pass fast.

On to SVR!

Thanks V , I figured that. It's early on for me at day 3 and just wanted to know its not something else. I will of course keep tabs on this and get that cushy TP. Hahaha. Feeling good otherwise.
A little bit fuzzy minded but nothing I can't surmount.

When I began treatment, my stomach was making a lot of noise throughout the day which was coupled with bouts of gas. This all subsided relatively quickly, however. Maybe in the time frame of a week or week and a half. I also had one evening where I had diarrhea which may not have even been related. But all in all, it was a very easy ride for me.

I would mention it to your doctor if it continues for any length of time.

Best wishes on your treatment and good luck with SVR!

Marc
