Liver Enzymes Normalizing for Travelmom

Hi there. I am Miles' friend, just so you know who you are talking to. I saw that a while back you asked what the elevated LFT's mean about Amanda's treatment. They really do not mean that she isn't responding. Most people's enzymes normalize because that is what ribavirin does. In the early years, before PCR, docs thought that ribavirin was working better than it really was because almost everyone ended up with normal LFT's. Unfortunately they soon learned that it meant nothing as far as SVR. So certainly do not give up hope that her treatment is going well.

Thanks, Jodi, I appreciate that.     I can't say whether I'm doing the trial or not.  I'm real leery about reporting about that on the message boards.  Off message boards via email would be a different ballgame.  Miles has my email address, but I don't think I'm allowed to post it here.   I'm glad Amanda is doing well in the trial.  She's been through a lot as you have.

I have not been able to get ahold of Miles through his email.  Next time you hear from him, tell him Susan400 says Hi.  He knows who I really am, because we've met face to face here in Florida.

Maybe my mistake is a harbinger of the good news to follow. I certainly hope that it is. It's so nice to hear from you and to learn that Amanda is responding. Tell her we are all thinking of her and hoping and praying for the best. How have you been feeling by the way? Mike

Hi Sandi,

Thanks for the good wishes... Our best to you as well..

Hi Susan,

How are you?  Did you find out about acceptance into the trial?  I know you mentioned maybe not wanting to mention the outcome...so I will leave it at that...I wish you the best either way..

Yes, I do know that you and Miles are old pals.. I will definitely send him a little note letting him know you were asking about him.

Stay well..

Jodi

Hi Susie,

I do remember you...how are you?  Well I hope..

I speak to Miles often..and am glad he is doing  very well... I am really happy for him...he has been one our biggest supporters...

We found at at week 6 on trial that Amanda is responding!!! We are thrilled...her enzymes continue to remain elevated, but as you said, she is still responding...so are fingers stay crossed that she will continue this trend.

Mike,

How are you my friend?  Yes, Amanda is responding...we will not know about being UND until I believe week 24... she is doing well with Prove 3...however we can only hope she gets to UND!!  fingers and toes crossed..

Stay well!

I just realized we are not talking about the same Amanda. I know an Amanda treating and just assumed she was the same person. I realized when I looked back and saw Travelmom in the title. I don't have any information on her but I wish her the very best. I apologize for the confusion. Mike

Amanda is responding and is undetectable. Other markers have much improved as well. Mike
