Liver enzymes higher while on treatment?

I was wondering if others have seen a rise in AST and ALT levels during treatment? Prior to starting
Interferon/Riba my liver enzymes were normal with AST 21 ALT 23, week 4 test results show AST 37 ALT 54. These numbers do not seem too high and the Dr. is not concerned I was just curious if this is common? I am sure after treatment they will be back to normal.

I am now starting week 9 and just picked up copies of my labs from week 4, my WBC were low at 2.4 Neutrophils ABS at 0.95 RBC 4.3 Haemoglobin 12.9 and best of all I'm still undetected!  

I had blood work drawn today and will be interested to see the results as I have been feeling a bit more fatigued lately, I do plan on getting copies asap and not waiting another 4 weeks till the next visit.

EACH BLOOD WORK THEY GO  UP SOME SCARY AND WORRYS ME TO DEATH  i AM 15/24 AND und SINCE WEEK 4.
mY WBC IS HOLDING GOOD SO FAR AND RED IS TO. THE ONE THING THAT DONT GO DOWN IS AST ALT.
iDOES OTHERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM. i AM GEN 3 AND  HAVE INJECTION AN RIB. bOTH OF THESE ARE BRUTAL AND BAD MEDS HOPING FOR UND AND NEVER SEE THIS DESEASE AGAIN . PRAYING GOD WILL WATCH OVER US ALL

Mine stayed pretty high throughout treatment - in the 100's.  Four weeks after completion, they were at about 20.  The doctor was not concerned at all and felt it was fairly common.

ALT and AST fluctuate.  As long as you continue to be UND, I would expect them to stay in the normal range.  The treatment itself shouldn't raise the numbers, but I'm not positive.  Maybe that spike was somehow from the early hit to your liver or the virus trying to fight back.  My uneducated guess is that your 8 week or whenever is lower on both numbers.
