Locker Pin ***** in the Gym

Hi, can anyone tell me the likelihood of hcv transmission from being pricked in the hand by a gym locker pin?  Would you recommend testing?

I once got picked by a safety pin and got a pretty bad infection, I'd worry more about that then HCV, I understand the anxiety associated when you don't know.

I'd be more worried about tetanus personally.

Locker pins also do not have HCV. Seriously, your risk, statistically speaking, is zero. I'm sure you are capable of imagining a scenario wherein an infected person left their blood on this thing and you then acquired it. Stop worrying about such incredibly remote risks! HCV is transmitted only by blood to blood contact and the more convoluted the scenario of getting that blood from an infected person to the new individual, the less likely is transmission. Even a needle stick in a medical setting that involves an HCV patient only carries a 5% risk to the other individual. There are way too many people out there who probably need help with OCD issues but instead worry about catching this virus in obscure ways. I hope you just needed education, but if you are still worrying please consider seeing a therapist about these worries. Best wishes
