I was introduced to the possibility of this trial as well yesterday. I am naive and should know if accepted soon. If I am accepted, I would start in Dec. 2008 also.
You're not alone.
I am starting in a phase 3 trial of Boceprvir for HCV genotype 1, but for naive.
I am scheduled to start in a Boceprevir trial somewhere around Dec 2008. I have already done the screening. I am Geno type 1 Naive. I am cautious about what I can say here other than to say I'm in it. I don't want to jeopardize my chances of getting into this trial. I don't know if the drug company's check this site or not. I would think that people have the right to talk about their own treatment. My own research suggest that standard treatment only net about 40% SRV rate. That rate goes up to about 60% on Boceprevir or Telaprevir trials. These are approximate figures and don't quote me on it. Both Boceprevir and Telaprevir seem to be the best Tx programs out there. Unfortunately that not saying much. I still think we are along way from finding a Tx program that is not so brutal. The side effects of these drugs are enough to scare the hell out of anybody.
Hi Rocker ... I'm new to the board. I am going in tomorrow AM for the Boceprevir screening (naive). Will keep you posted on the outcome.
BADSS bro.... I'm by your side, not on bocep..., but I'm there....
even sharing most of your diet, but please don't make me eat eggs... :-)
Your sis,
Marcia
If you care to share your experience, chime in so we can get a buddy list started,
Bill200, any news? VirgoCharm, how's the iron situation? PokerRon are you considering this trial?
skb28642 hope you are doing okay. Are you up to treating?
Foo
I also hope to be in the trial, while i sure won't mind treating with ya as long as i don't have to share your diet.:)
Best of luck to you.... Rock on rocker

You're not alone. You have all of us to keep you on the straight and narrow....LOL
And we'll also be your cheering section.
Yeah there should be a couple of more ppl starting soon, I'm trying to get on and I'm also in the middle of changing doctors. I had one of the worst GI's I could ever imagine. Well that's not totally true, he was fine until I told him I wanted to tx. Then he got ugly, to make it short I got outta there. I think I'll be better off as I'm trying to get a Heptologist who is an affiliate of the UC system. I think your screeners are just moving faster than others, you won't be alone, you're only alone today. Also, I'm tx naive. later
Check with foofighter and fretboard as they discussed possibly starting Boceprevir in another thread.

Rock,
I'm not there with you in the Boceprevir trial, but I am a comrade in arms when your treatment begins. It's still going to s-u-c-k, boceprevir or no boceprevir.
Tons of people out there treating who never find this forum, or just don't care to talk about things. The odds are somebody will show up.
