Here we go again

well got results from biop last Tues. and not what I wanted to hear. Because of my severe reaction to Riba last time out Drs. were reluctant to start treatment again and wanted to wait 2-3 yrs for hopefully drugs without the anemia effect...well that ain't happening...so now we're going with Trepi. as soon as it gets to the market and slight lower dose of Riba. and much closer  monitoring. Should start in a month or so ... let's go and hope for the best

It was about 4 yrs ago and my count was running around ten, then in a matter of 2-3 days it dropped to 4, that caused a bit of a bad reaction. In the E.R. and  five units of blood. The E.R doc gave me something to stimulate bone marrow. Must of worked the next day I had a gig at a local club and managed pull it off

PS My hemoglobin went down six full points in just ten days at week 2/3
The Procrit which I took 40,000 2x a week raised my hemo back up in no time (it does take a few weeks to kick in). This allowed me to stay right about 10.5 for the remaining 69 weeks. 10.5 was fine after being down so low it really made a great difference.

Doesn't your doctor prescribe Procrit?  Many of us have suffered severe hemolytic anemia and our docs have put us on it.  Without it I would not have been able to completely treatmente.

You should seriously discuss this with him as this is how most doctors manage it.

Generic name Epogen
