I expect that KOKO's comments are sarcasm.  Don't even call a doctor. If you are going to call someone call an electrician or someone who is able to eliminate those loose wires.

The great news is, if someone does happen to contract hep c, there is a cure.

remote=(of a chance or possibility) unlikely to occur.

Irrelevant= not important or relating to what is being discussed right now : not relevant

so no remote does not mean the same as irrelevant

REMOTE MEANS IRRELEVANT?

No need to feel stupid but if excessive worry interferes with life I still suggest you talk to someone about it.

Worry only robs today of its joy.

Really the likelyhood of contracting anything other than a minor skin infection is remote. And keep your tetanus shots up to date.

Here is a link from the CDC for frequently asked questions about Hep c maybe that will help

Good luck

"Personally I would not have even had a second thought. Just wash with soap and water and put a bandaid on it to keep it clean and go about my day. "

Is my incident so extremely unlikely to transmit hepatitis C that it was stupid for me to ask...
i feel stupid.."??

That is you choice to make.

Personally I would not have even had a second thought. Just wash with soap and water and put a bandaid on it to keep it clean and go about my day.

So is it no risk or risk?
Minimal. Life is not without risk

and would you get tested in a similar situation?
No I probably would not have even thought about the possibilities you have.

IS this this situation of little concern? .
Yes

This is my non medical opinion. My suggestion as I said is ask your doctor

Hi

We are not doctors here but rather patients or caregivers for patients battelling with Hepatitis C.

If you would like to ask this of a doctor I suggest you contact your primary care provider.

The situitation you have described is possible in theory I suppose to contract hep c. However there have been no studies that address every possible scenario where one could come into contact with the Hep c virus.

You say this happened at your home do you know the people who you say left your home earlier? Do any of them have the illness you listed? If not then it would be impossible for you to contract anything.

I cannot speak to HIV or Hep B there are other groups that discuse those illnesses. But I suspect you would have minimal to almost no risk there as well.

If you are concerned get tested.

My suggestion to you would be to discuss you apparent anxiety issues over things that should be of very little concern. You may consider counseling to help you with your anxiety and fear of infection
