MRSA and HCV

Hey everybody! I joined your group yesterday and have been reading the comments for hours. All summer I have had MRSA, UTI's and pneumonia. Am I correct that this is related to HCV and will GI Doc be able to help when I see him next week?

I am 55 and have been diagnosed for 3 years with Hep C. Don't know genotype yet, but ya'll are great in helping me know how to proceed. Of course, I had hoped it would just go away...denialI I guess I'll have to confront the facts and assume responsibility. I take care of my 90 year old mom and have two teenagers. I thought about letting nature take it's course. After all, damage takes decades. Right?

MRSA is not related to HepC whatsoever!  Ppl get MRSA infections all the time who have nothing to do with HepC.  As far as your other issues I don't know but your MRSA is not because you have HepC.

Hi Chugen

MRSA is a bacterial disease; I’m not sure how this would be associated with Hep C. HCV patients aren’t typically prone to opportunistic infections in the sense that HIV patients are.

Your GI doc should be able to help you figure everything out, and get the ball rolling in terms of management. Has your genotype been determined yet? How long do you feel you might have been infected?

Welcome to the discussion group, by the way—

Bill
