Medhelp?

I am curious how you are progressing in returning this sites usability level? Granted I am on dialup service...but I am suffering through 3 min page load times just to frequent this site..Am I the only one who is dealing with this agonizing site slowness? Am I the only one who wishes they could once again copy and paste a post from this site without having to spend more time editing all the dictionary "tag" code out of the post or link? (I think techinical discussions here have suffered a real blow as a result) Am I the only one how has no interest at all in the right hand column offerings? Plenty of blue and pink heads, lots of "hollywood" worthlessness, but that is about it....I use to love coming here, but that warm and fuzzy experience has suffered greatly since your changes. I must confess, I am shopping around for a new site to engage in....

Thanks medhelp....I will attempt to accept the changes...at week 67 in tx, change does not come easily these days...;^) I'm sure some of the site slowness I'm experiencing is a result of my security software weeding through the cookies....
I do appreciate your efforts....Pro

Hi,
We tracked down the lag issue that Jim was referring to and pushed a fix a couple of hours ago. If you still experience lag please let us know.

Proactive - if you log in you will no longer see any of the dictionary "tag codes" and will not have any trouble cutting and pasting text. Those appear only to people who are not logged in to MedHelp. When you log in you can check the box to keep you logged in so you don't need to log in every time. Also, please send us a contact us if you are having 3 minute load times as we have kept one of our team members on dialup to make sure we know what the experience is like and we are not exeriencing such delays. If we can learn more about your setup we'll solve it.

Wyn - Please let us know if the largest text size is still too small. We can try making it larger if it is.

Deb - Please let us know if you have trouble finding the Back to Forum link at the bottom.

Please let us know of any other issues or suggestions you have.

Of course I'd never say anything bad about you or Venus. Probably should have said that Venus is " MH's only non-human avatar (picture)" but maybe there are other animals photos as well. Sorry about the brain fog as it often comes with the treatment territory.

Be well,

I am so brain-dead these days, Jim, that I haveta confess I don't know what the heck you mean!!!!!!!

I'm sure it was a nice comment but . . . . well, that's another reason i don't post much - i can't think!  It's embarrassing.  :(

One improvement I would make, is having a back to forum link at the bottom, instead of having to scroll back up. Ok I am lazy, but find it odd there isn't one?
I only knew old forum for a couple of weeks, so no worries here.

Sorry, you're having problems, but I don't think it realistic these days that web sites will be designed with dial-up in mind. Still, a little more bandwidth might be helpful -- assuming that's the problem -- because I sometimes have problems loading pages and I'm on Cable.

But that aside, I can honestly say I don't miss the old format at all. It took about a week to get used to -- and the light blue copy-box background seemed to help. Anyway, while always room for improvement, I give the new format a thumbs up compared to the old one with a brighter and more upbeat feel. Some new features like automatically going to a post after clicking on member name in the post-list really save time and no doubt this new software affords the ability to offer similar more advanced features in the future.

"Wyn" --  hopefully, at least "Venus" is happy as being MH's only non-human parrot :)

I know how your feel, pro.  Those are the same reasons I've stopped using the site much.  It's just not personal anymore.  It takes too long to find things and the comment space on the posts themselves just aren't as readable coz the text is so compressed.  There's a reason books don't get printed in a 3" width format.  It's not easy on the eye.

Anyway, I doubt things will go back to how they used to be.  Keep me informed of your move.

How's the last 8 weeks going?

I got my LAST 3-month shipment of meds yesterday.  Just in time;  I'm developing a lot of secondary health issues.

Take care, pro.
