results because of throat infection?

I got my labwork done in preperation for start date.

White blood is 17.2
Nuetrophil % 91.1
Lymphocyte 6.7
Nuetrophil Count 15.7

I am assuming these values indicate infection..any responses welcome. I have emailed the nurse, but haven't heard back yet. Am hoping it won't delay treatment....

Thanks

Vann

That waiting is the pits. I was set to start n they kept putting me off til Incivik got approval. I got organized while I was waiting. Mentally, physically, spiritually. So a little more time can be a good thing. Karen :)

Hi Vann
The normal WBC is 4  -11
and of that normal neutrophils should be  about  60  -75 %
lymphs   approx 1  -  4  and neut count   approx. 2   -7

So....yes all the Whites are elevated and is usually so because of infection somewhere....
If you have been diagnosed with an infection this is fairly normal...however high whites without a known infection should always be investigated further.
